Katrin Maja Maehl – Our Managing Director, Katrin Maja Maehl, originally from Germany herself but now a permanent resident of South Africa, heads up the team and supplies an unbridled passion with constant innovation to the services we offer. Educated in Germany, Berlin she completed her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and after periods of work with SIEMENS and in the immigration industry was one of the founding partners of Intergate Immigration.

Stuart James – Stuart is the Englishman in the team and is responsible for supporting our clients from the United Kingdom. As a UK qualified certified financial-planner, he is the right contact person for questions concerning exchange control, investment and UK related tax issues. Stuart is the creative head of the team; he developed the “Immigration-Report”, which is tailored individually for every single client. As a very energetic person he is always on call for any queries and providing support throughout the immigration process.

Before he decided to follow his wife to South Africa, he worked for Standard Life UK and the Royal London Group among others. He has studied at the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom and is the holder of the Financial Planning Certificate.

Nico le Roux (Registered Immigration Agent) Nico, the South African financial-planner, is a member of the South African Institute of Financial Planning and our expert regarding questions towards local investments, accountancy, taxation and business consulting. As a Bachelor in Commerce (CTA) he spent the first part of his career working for the international business consultancy Price Waterhouse Coopers. Later he moved to their Financial Services arm where he operated as a Wealth Management Consultant. Nicholas Hunt – Nick Hunt is the second English man in the team and heads up our Corporate Services Department for Intergate, dealing with individual and corporate clients. Nick, although based in Johannesburg also conducts business within the whole of SA - so no matter where you or your company are based he is on hand to assist you. Nick’s previous background has been in the Financial Services and Insurance Industry in the UK, working for Winterthur Life UK Ltd before becoming a London Bank Manager for Nat West, Alliance & Leicester and Lloyds TSB. With a strong commercial expertise Nick decided to settle in South Africa’s financial hub Johannesburg. Nick’s travelling days have taken him to many countries throughout the world, from Laos to New York, also living and working in Australia for a year. His biggest love of South Africa is the National Parks. With Nick’s professional background, sense of humour, drive and motivation he always finds a way to make it happen!

Claus Lauter – As Head of Corporate (German Business), he takes care of the needs of our corporate clients. He has worked on management level in large global corporations like Johnson & Johnson, as well as founding and managing his own IT company in Germany. Claus is a real problem solver and understands the needs of management members in Large companies and SME’S.

Joachim Schuckmann – Joachim is our Cape Town based Corporate Client Manager, and with his extensive experience in the administrative side of our business, it allows Joachim to quickly identify the needs and problems of companies, and in turn he is able to provide in-depth and practical solutions to our current and prospective corporate clients. His background in Organisational Psychology and Labour Law allows Joachim to empathise with the needs and stresses of our clients’ HR Departments, and so is best suited to ensure that Intergate’s corporate clients receive the kind of professional service they require.

His extensive experience in working with the Department of Labour and the Department of Trade & Industry as well as various South African embassies and consulates around the world, places Joachim in an ideal position to provide our clients and our administrative team with valuable feedback and advice.

Samantha Brown – Samantha Brown is the administrative catalyst that allows Joachim Schuckmann and Rebecca Bowman to provide a seamless service to talented foreigners who would like to find work in South Africa. She has a diploma in business and office administration from Montrose Business College. The behind the scenes activity that takes place in the application for work permits is anything but plain sailing and Samantha’s ability to work under pressure in unpredictable scenarios is vital to Joachim and Rebecca’s commitment to rendering the application process seamless for the client.
